Amid the frequent openings of new women’s boutiques in Greenwich, there is now a full-service, one-stop-shop destination for the Greenwich man on the go.

Suitsupply, located at 80 Mason Street, is a European menswear retailer focused on expertly tailored suits that has geared itself to clothing the Greenwich man with style and comfort.

While the company, which began in 2000, now has 84 stores worldwide, the Greenwich location is the first to open in Connecticut.

The refurbished three-story edifice boasts 6,200 square feet of everything menswear, has eight in-store sales associates who endured an intensive “suit school,” and two on-site tailors who can turn around a custom suit in just under three days.

The Art Deco-style shop feels like a welcome retreat with its comfortable seating and smartly displayed fashions; it exudes a relaxed yet energetic vibe that helps make perusing the fashions enjoyable.

On the first floor, the store features casual sportswear such as denims and sweaters, and accessories such as belts and footwear, in perfectly orchestrated ensembles, ready to wear upon purchase.

The second floor features the core of its business, custom suits.

The entire floor is arranged methodically by its three lines of suits, with a wall full of interchangeable shirts and ties, boldly displayed.

First is the blue line, which features the brand’s basic starter suits, where pricing begins at $399.

Next is the purple line, where customers have a more robust selection of fabrics and styles to choose from, starting at $499.

And last is their high-end red line, which features a full spectrum of custom choices, starting at $639, where men can have some fun and show their individuality by truly customizing every detail of the suit, from buttons to interior lining.

While the company uses high-quality European fabrics, what makes the brand affordable is that they produce, design and manufacturer everything in-house, keeping their costs down.

In fact, The Wall Street Journal compared the quality of a Suitsupply suit to that of a $3,625 Armani suit.

For those who mainly live out of a suitcase, Suitsupply has also designed a special line of travel wear known as the “Traveller,” composed of a special, wrinkle-free fabric for suits, shirts and overcoats as well.

The brand has even designed its own “race case” to encase those wrinkle-free suits, featuring a scooter to boot.

Attending a black-tie gala? On the third floor, Suitsupply also carries custom tuxedos, and all the necessary accoutrements.

For $799, one can have a custom tuxedo, shirt, bow tie and shoes, ready to wear by the weekend’s event.

Upon each client’s first visit to the store, a sales associate creates a customized profile where measurements, preferences and pertinent data are stored so that all future shopping transactions, whether done in-store or online, can be done easily.

The website features an online app called “The Box Office,” where designers can work with clients to achieve the custom look of their choice solely online using Facetime and Webcam.

“We make a very serious product but get everyone into the perfect fit for them, which is most important,” said Nish de Gruter, vice president of Suitsupply.

“It doesn’t matter what your size, it’s all about the fit. When you wear something that works well for you, you feel truly relaxed and confident,” added de Gruter.

Designated parking is available for shoppers just behind the store.

Store hours are Mon. through Sat. 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sun. noon to 6 p.m.
